Buckskin Blanket Appaloosa!? I HAD TO GO TO THIS AUCTION!

When I saw the flyer for the Spring Horse Auction, I almost scrolled past—until five magic words stopped me cold: Buckskin Blanket Appaloosa for sale. My jaw dropped. I read it three more times just to be sure. A buckskin blanket Appaloosa? That’s the kind of rare coloring you don’t just stumble across. It’s the kind you dream about, the kind that usually lives in glossy calendar pages or behind private ranch gates. And now it was going to be at an auction… my kind of auction.

I canceled everything. Lunch plans, chores, even my farrier appointment (sorry, Jerry). There was no way I was missing this. I packed my trailer, checked my wallet three times, and hit the road like it was a gold rush.

The auction yard was buzzing when I got there—seems I wasn’t the only one drawn in by the legend of this unicorn. I spotted him instantly. That shimmering golden coat, dark legs, black mane and tail, and that gorgeous white blanket over his hips flecked with dark spots. He looked like he’d walked straight out of a painting.

I swear, he made eye contact with me like he already knew we belonged together. My heart was pounding before the bidding even began. The crowd was thick, the auctioneer fast, and the tension real. I don’t remember breathing. I just remember raising my hand and not putting it down until the gavel slammed.

Sold.

To me.

I still can’t believe it. That dream horse—my dream horse—is now munching hay in my barn. And yes, he’s even more stunning in the sunlight.

Sometimes, you just know. And when the universe whispers “Go,” you don’t ask why—you grab your boots and head for the trailer.
